Gotti discovers she has gained a few pounds, so she visits a nutritionist. The aimless life of a crime widow continues this evening. She offered the limo driver a grand to roll him into a ditch. Gotti also went out on a blind date with a nerdy man, though it wasn't a love connection. The first shows followed her to work at the Star offices back home to yell at her lazy sons, who aren't listening anyway and on a trip to the outlet malls. She teetered about in her heels, tight pantsuits and tighter sweaters. Blond, Botoxed and loud, chattering up a storm in that nasal New Yawk accent. In the first episodes, the cameras followed Gotti closely and she's really, well, something. Her regular career - romance novelist and gossip columnist for the National Star tabloid - must pay very well indeed. In the case of Victoria and her terrible brood, home is a cavernous Long Island mansion. Just imagine spending Christmas with the Gottis! Her uncle, Peter Gotti, is also in the joint. Victoria's brother, John Jr., is scheduled to get out of prison next month, after five years on a racketeering conviction, but he was recently charged with attempted murder, so that could be a problem. Their behaviour may not be entirely Victoria's fault, though, since there aren't many male role models in the Gotti family. Victoria's ex-husband, Carmine Agnello, is still in prison for racketeering and tax evasion, which leaves her to raise three sulky, teenage Italian-American sons, each one more monstrous than the next. The unscripted series follows the glam life of Victoria Gotti, daughter of legendary mob kingpin John Gotti, who died in prison two years ago. Top of the world, Ma! If you missed the first show, well, it was something. By Wednesday morning A&E had ordered seven more episodes of viewers, thereby setting two ratings records: A&E's largest audience for a series premiere and for an episode of a regular series. Last Monday's double-episode debut nabbed more than three million U.S. Growing Up Gotti returns for its second appearance tonight (A&E, 9:30 p.m.). The new season is still months away but blowsy blond mob diva Victoria Gotti has somehow already fixed herself up as the biggest reality star on TV. ![]()
